Game Review: Sheep Collapse by Mystery Sheep
Sheep Collapse is a cute and slightly friendship-wrecking game. The story and the characters in the game are well thought out and every single one of them are very cute in their own way. The illustrations from their board to their game pieces are well made and I never get tired looking at them. I am actually quite fond of one of the sheep characters, whose name is Scaredy and he always looks ready to pee himself. I always pick him when I play.
Sheep collapse is a board game about four little sheeps that seem to have shunned a Wolf that, for some reason, wanted to be a sheep as well. Angered and heart-broken, the Wolf decides to destroy their homes every night as a form of revenge. Now the players (who are the sheep) must collect blocks of wood and money scattered around the field to be able rebuild their homes and buy protection cards from their shepherd before the Wolf returns...
The players will have 4 rounds to collect as much wood and coins as they can and get back to their base. Each round, a player will only have 5 Action points;A player can either use 1 AP for each tile they step on or use 2 AP for a Sprint -- A move that will let you go through 4 spaces. I usually start with collecting a lot of blocks before collecting money since the game ends when all the blocks are used and the winner is the one with the highest house.
What's friendship-wrecking about this game is how you can actually move the Wolf to someone's house and when the 4th round ends with the wolf in one of the bases then that house is the only one affected when the Wolf attacks. Trust me when I say that you can't even trust your own friends to keep the Wolf away from your base; Especially, when you're the one winning.
I like how you can build your house any way you want with the blocks you've collected. How you win the game greatly depends on how you structure your house. Your house can be either too short or too flimsy and both can result in a player losing the game. One of the moves the Wolf can do is flick your house and whatever falls off is taken away. That's why I always try to make the base of my house as wide as possible before making it taller. I'd rather not have all my hard-earned blocks taken so easily thank you very much.
Despite being betrayed by my own friends, I enjoyed playing Sheep Collapse and I recommend that other people should play it as well. It's a fun game to play with your family and friends to pass the time and you'll definitely have fun moving the Wolf (I know I did). I never knew wrecking other peoples' homes could be so fun until I played this game.
